Next meeting scheduled for Sunday 28 January

Mauro Barons great protagonist of the conference Wednesday atSnai La Maura Racecourse. The trainer from Divignano signed a nice hat trick as a coach, also winning the highlight of the afternoon, the Echo Dei Veltri Award, with waiting Dalila Bar: a mare in amazing form (she had reiterated this in the last Italian outings but also in the valid trip to Vincennes), the daughter of Robert Bi entrusted to Marco Stefani found herself in the lead following an error by Dakota Grim but had to take on the pressure of declared rival Cesare Amg who forced her to a first km under 1.12: Dalila Bar didn't bat an eyelid, on the last curve with her rival who had now fired the best cartridges, she stalled for a moment longer and then just got straight he gained enough of an advantage to elude Barnaba Trebi's mid-track finish (good for the next one) by imposing himself with an average of 1.11.3, just one tenth of his personal lead. The stationary Destiny Effe overtook the still generous Cesare Amg for third place: Showmar, after acting as a second team, was unable to get to the heart of the straight line.

In Baroncini's 'treble' there was also glory for Tommaso Di Lorenzo. After having savored the victory on Sunday with Ector Zl, the driver from Palermo led Fastday Prav to success in Nephenta Lux Award: the son of Infinitif defended the rope at the start, distributed his energy as best as possible and in the final, albeit with a bit of suffering, brought home the result with an average of 1.13.8, maintaining a one-head lead over Fly Away Gar, who found himself at one lap to go and then attacking on the penultimate straight. Fenomen Sa, with a nice final progression, finished third, Firmamento St finished fourth without finding any space in the wake of the winner.

At the start came the success of the returning Daphne Wise L in Orient Horse Award: presented very well after a two-month break by the Milanese trainer and driven with confidence by Marco Stefani (a double for him), Leonardo Vastano's standard bearer moved from third position at the km and with 600 finals on the external climb forcefully bent the pace of the Den Ghiu pacesetter Gnafa' with an average of 1.13. A strong performance from the daughter of Muscle Massive who had already demonstrated that she had a great feeling for the finish line. Daitan Sonic followed the winner's moves in the final half lap, finishing well on the straight and narrow to finish third.

The other most interesting test of the afternoon was the Talisker Horse Award (today the conference was "dedicated" to Sara Bruni's stable and some of its most famous bearers) for 3-year-old females on 2250 meters. Beaten by Fern Kronos on her last outing, Fantastic Gio redeemed herself in a sensational way with a superlative performance: overtaken at the start by her rival (who on the narrow field could afford a very calm first km in 1.18), Alessandro Gocciadoro's mare suddenly "caught on fire" the race to the final 700 by launching an attack which the pacesetter, who was actually rather disappointing, was unable to counter in the slightest (the stopwatch, however, indicates a final "supersonic" half mile in 56): Fantastic Gio took the lead with just one partial and cut the finish line with an average of 1.14.8, keeping at a distance a valid Follia D'Esi who, however, had to settle for second place, while Fern Kronos was third at the interval.

Not even the breaking of a harness in the pre-race phases (with consequent extension of the wait on the track) slowed down the race of the very fast Ethan: in stratospheric form, heavily supported by betting, Simone Levacovich's pupil in the Scuderia Bruni Sara and Scuderia Osti Leila Award achieved his fifth consecutive success, all with extreme ease, a sign that the limits are still far from defined: yet the son of Nad Al Sheba had to spend at least in the first 300 meters to defend the lead on Eridamia's attack, he then graduated and finished strong and there was nothing the opponents could do. All topped off with an important chronometric performance (1.11.8, new record) and supported by an equally convincing visual impression. The Italian debut of Ni Hai Bros was good and, although trailing, they finished second ahead of Eridamia, who was also positive considering that she was returning.

The development was very tight Revirade Award rewarded those who waited, with the Evita di Venere tread that had to withstand the prolonged attack (from 600 to 1200 meters) of Krakatoa Bar: the attacker ran out of momentum on the last curve, the stationary Eligible Bi remained closed and so on the logical drop in the leader, the one who stood out was Electra Zs (Andrea Farolfi for Afrim Shmidra) beating the speed Escobar Sm who had passed first 50 meters from the finish line. On her first outing without the irons, Maharajah's daughter made great progress and with 1.13.5 demolished her previous personal best. The unlucky Eligible Bi managed to free himself but only to catch up with Evita di Venere for third place.

Gentlemen (not winners of 40 career races) protagonists in Flower Bigi Award in a horse seat of categories F/G. Carlotta D'Agostino's experience undoubtedly had its weight and the rider prevailed with Diamond Wise L: third from the start, the rider from the Limitless team advanced to the final 600, reaching the pacesetter Uisconsis Vol to clearly dominate him in the 50 final meters, with an average of 1.14.8. The loser also ran well, with whom Federica Rovida, despite being at her "baptism" in the sulky, tried to run as a protagonist. Third place close by for Dakar Bi with Marco Gavioli in sulky, another gentleman from the latest "brood".
