(Jamma) On Saturday 14th September, in Montecatini, the Horseracing Operators Committee of Tuscany and the Horseracing Entrepreneurs met the Undersecretary Hon. Castiglione. At the end of a conference on horse racing which also saw the presence of the Hon. Roberta Angelilli, Vice President of the European Parliament, of the Hon. Monica Faenzi, PDL group leader in the Agriculture Commission and by Dr. Roberto Benedetti, Vice President of the Regional Council of Tuscany, some representatives of the Tuscan Committee and horseracing entrepreneurs had the opportunity to meet Undersecretary Castiglione, who was recently given the delegation for horseracing by Minister De Girolamo.
During this meeting, the Undersecretary was given a document addressing the problems of late payments, the further unjustified cut of the 2013 prize money and the urgency of approving the reform of the horse racing sector. The undersecretary, already fully informed and documented on horse racing issues, guaranteed that he is personally following the payment process, hoping that the implementation of the simplification decree will lead to a quick regularization of the deadlines, and confirmed his full support, his and the Minister, to the reform proposal presented by the Hon. Faenzi in the hope that it will be able to be approved as quickly as possible.
"We thanked - say the Italian Horseracing Entrepreneurs - Undersecretary Castiglione for the attention he has shown towards the horseracing sector and we asked him for the answers that the officials responsible for horseracing on behalf of the Ministry are unable (or unwilling) to give to equestrian operators now exhausted”.
