All 'Snai San Siro racecourse from Milan last seasonal gallop outing with a goodbye to Spring 2024. The management of the Milanese racecourse and all jockeys participants in the races, in fact, brought the red mark on his face which, for some years now, has distinguished this one awareness campaign.
On the track it was a beautiful and exciting meeting that focused on four tests: in addition to the most technically visible one, with the Mirko Marcialis Award, the conditioning over 1.800 meters for horses aged 3 years and over dedicated to the unfortunate jockey who died in 2000, at the age of 19, due to a racing accident, there were also two excellent category handicaps which concluded the day with the San Siro Award and Ultima Corsa Award 2023. And then the Limited Handicap on the mile entitled to Armando and Roberto Renzoni.
But let's get to the news starting from Marcialis with an excellent 2023 edition from all points of view, including the spectacular one. The race, in fact, ended in a vibrant head-to-head between Mordimi and Terrible Land, with the latter eventually managing to push back his opponent, even with a fight to the limit, to the point of inducing the commissioners to sound the siren, who however did not see any reason to change the finishing order. A perfect fairy tale, therefore, given that Terrible Land is coached by Antonio and Mario Marcialis, Mirko's uncle and father.
In San Siro Award, traditional 3.000 meter test on a large track, Real Wild Child he stood out for his solitary run; from end to end pedaling forward right from the start, he never let any opponent get close to him, always keeping clearly forward; second Ancalena who beat Aconcagua for the second coin, and fourth Elegant Drago.
For Ultima Corsa Award 2023, a 1.400 meter straight race and twin of the Apertura which opened the season, here is the gray Schiele which replicated the success of April, even more clearly than that day, completing the most wonderful circle in the world. Soffio and Ovvio completed the trio of greetings.
As already mentioned, another very successful race was the one dedicated to Armando and Roberto Renzoni, the Limited Handicap on the mile this year signed with great success by the young man Gino Jet, who placed the thrust at the right time to pass those in front and to resist with extreme determination the return of Emperor Of Love, while further behind The King's Horses and Pallapannochiesch finished very close in order.
For the other races we start with the good category handicap on 2.200 meters for the Scuderia Rencati Award, in which Bancodorio prevailed, always complicated in winning races, but this time he saved it from the return attempt of the combative Baballi.
In the other two races reserved for 2-year-old horses, there was the double kilometer nursery of good category for the Italian Union of Jockeys Award, and the traditional consolatory conditioning on 1.500 meters named after the journalist Eteocle Bassi. We start from Bassi with a performance that turned into a sort of litmus test for Touch Me Again which had disappointed expectations in the Gran Criterium. After his debut as a red club, today he was good and concrete in seizing the opportunity despite having to sweat a lot under the vehement attack of Blu Note, who at times hit the hat-trick despite the terrible weight; close third was a Kadegliano who confirmed that he is an interesting element. In the opening test of the day, however, Caos Calmo was the protagonist, who won as the favourite, thus replicating the success in maiden always with extreme simplicity; good second for Trudi, who made a good debut with the new colours.
