Sarzana: restrictions on the use of public land for premises with slots

(Jamma) The data is alarming, 90 people from Sarzana turned to Sert asking for help and were directed to counseling centres. This is why the municipal administration wants to run for cover and the 'fight against slots' is one of the programs it has set itself to implement already in the first phase of 'government'.

“We need to act at the level of prevention – explains the councilor for social services Juri Michelucci – so the first objective we will achieve is the elimination of slots in municipally owned premises. Not only will we apply restrictions on the use of public land for those premises that have slots inside them. We will certainly limit the hours of the gaming halls which will have to close at 19pm”.

There are many initiatives in the pipeline, proposed by Juri Michelucci, including one that foresees a certain distance of the cinemas from youth aggregation centres, naturally including schools and places of worship. Finally, the councilor wants to make the population aware of all the problems deriving from gambling.
And under this latter aspect, the Municipality, in agreement with the associations Cometa, Camminare Insieme, Voluntari Crescita Ccomunitaria and Libera, organized five specific meetings in the Mission Hall. The first is scheduled for October 7, the speaker will be Leopoldo Grosso of the Abele group, one of the most important scholars of all social problems.

The third seminar will be attended by a magistrate who is a member of the Rome anti-mafia commission. In fact, linked to the 'machines' that require installation and maintenance with millionaire businesses, there is also the serious problem of mafia infiltration.
