Newslot guidelines: all postponed to September, a summer of tasks for ADM and approval bodies

(Jamma) – We read on Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: “The guideline is a set of recommendations systematically developed, on the basis of continuously updated and valid knowledge, drawn up with the aim of making appropriate, and with a high standard of quality, a desired behavior. They are a starting point for setting behaviors and modus operandi shared in organizations of all kinds (both private and public) in the social, political, economic, business, medical fields and so on. Mostly these are not mandatory procedures (in this case we are talking about a protocol, code or procedure)".

Normally guidelines are meant to simplify. They do so provided that the document or the tasks described are clear. When, on the other hand, they appear as enigmatic technical formulations, they appear to be the work of little competence and little foresight. If then they are inspired by punitive factors, albeit disguised with the usual slogan "of the need for greater security", then it is right to review some beliefs.

It is easy to share the choices towards greater security of gaming machines c.6/a, AWP or Newslot, which are more difficult to share the means and certain methods followed to obtain it, whether they are suggested by the sector (more for a commercial factor - such as encrypted peripherals for example) or by the Police (such as the transparent game card boxes + lids and the incautious request to be able to freely extract the memory guaranteed by the certification of the bodies for each card by means of the so-called stamp).

If, in addition to the intrinsic safety of the device, you also want the identification of whoever intervenes in the device once it has been produced, that's fine, but then, what's the use of encrypted peripherals and the electric lock at the same time?

The project for the release of the new AWP3 has always aroused great perplexity. Now it seems even more difficult to achieve because, even according to i rumors that come from the "palace", there is no longer the certainty of maintaining the current tax revenues (also given the crisis of the current AWP2). The new machines will be more expensive, due to complex approvals, and difficult to manage due to overly sophisticated normal and extraordinary maintenance. Among the many obstacles is also the lack of minimal economic certainties for the future and for financing investments. External factors cannot be overlooked, such as the lack of credit offered by banking institutions and the regulatory uncertainty of the new quota or relocation of AWPs following the Balduzzi Decree, beyond all local regulatory interpretations.

Difficult task that of the representatives of the ADM, an Administration which, as never before, appears uncertain about what to do and at the same time is being violently pursued by a ludophobic and schizophrenic policy and local administrations, which do not spare declarations and acts against slots, openly to safeguard young people despite the various research institutes saying that young people mainly play with scratch cards and sports bets.

Certainly the hope is that the transition to Newslot 3 will be fluid, but above all that times and ways of realisation, functionality, testing, commissioning and operation will be certain.

There are still many technical impediments, as they say around, there is no certainty of how to insert the authorization titles in the game sheets in PDF/A format, especially regarding who and how will insert the current authorization for joint operation dealer/manager.

We don't know who and how will hold the second key to the electric lock to carry out extraordinary maintenance on a device with a possible fault in the game's power supply or a monitor that is off.

Neither the cost nor the procedure for certifying or stamping each game card is known with certainty, nor is there any knowledge of how to manage future game card repairs.

Nothing is certain even for the update times by the dealers of the current PDAs (we are talking about 6/8 months) which will have to simultaneously support the old system for the AWP2 and the new encrypted system for the AWP3.

Finally, although a small success has been achieved in the reservation with delayed opening of the electric lock for extraordinary maintenance, future machines will not be able to have additional mechanical safety locks given that the Police would like to be able to control future AWP3s without the presence of the owner manager. But is the car, which performs a public service, private or public property?

Last gem, will the barcode reader for reading the player's age have to be installed?
