The Czech Republic today sent the European Commission the modification of decree no. 208/2017 Coll., which establishes the scope of the technical parameters for the structures through which gambling is managed, the requirements for the protection and conservation of gaming and financial data and their technical parameters.

The observation period will end next 01/01/2024.

The subject of the notification is a draft decree amending decree no. 208/2017 Coll., which establishes the scope of the technical parameters for the structures through which gambling is managed, the requirements for the protection and conservation of gaming and financial data and their technical parameters (hereinafter referred to as “decree no. 208/2017 Coll.”), which is issued on the basis of the authorization pursuant to article 133 par. 1 point. b) of law no. 186/2016 Coll., on gambling, as amended by the government bill amending certain laws in relation to the consolidation of public budgets with effect from 1 January 2024 (hereinafter referred to as the “Gambling Law” ).

The draft decree further specifies the obligations relating to the identification of terminal equipment, respectively the registration mark affixed to the terminal equipment. The project also specifies what is meant by the sum of a group of gaming and financial data intended for on-site storage, which is recorded by at least two independent counter systems located in the terminal equipment.
