According to the Swiss Federal Law on Gambling (the intercantonal enforcement authority is required to prepare an annual report on the use of lottery and sports betting revenues by the cantons.
The objective of the report is to make the process of use of funds by the cantons transparent.

From the report relating to the data provided up to 18 October, the revenue to be used amounts to 555,3 million francs. The largest part, i.e. 242 million (44%) was used to finance cultural initiatives. 8% of the funds (45,3 million) were used in the last year for cultural heritage conservation interventions. 33,6 million francs, or 6%, went to initiatives aimed at improving well-being. 3% (17,4 million) contributed to initiatives for young people (education). Health and disability are the categories to which 13 million francs have been allocated. Education and research could count on 15,7 million. 128,5 million francs were allocated to financing sport.
