Still spending review for the Customs and Monopolies Agency: now unification of the offices

(Jamma) First the establishment of the new offices, now their unification. In fact, important news are expected for the Customs and Monopolies Agency which, as part of the unification process and with the aim of achieving further savings in resources (about one million euros a year), the staff of 15 peripheral offices will be transferred, predictably within 2013, to the headquarters of the local customs office with the exception of Vercelli and Pisa for which the seat of the Monopoly section was chosen. The other unified offices are: L'Aquila, Ferrara, Reggio Emilia, Como, Asti, Turin, Oristano, Messina, Carrara, Livorno, Trento, Aosta, Grosseto.

This is what emerged yesterday during the meeting between the top management of the Agency and the union representatives. The meeting was an opportunity to present the business plan of the Customs and Monopolies Agency, on which the organizations expressed more than a few perplexities. “Our assessment of the Monopolies plan is not entirely positive - the CISL informs us - Meanwhile, due to the fact that for the former AAMS administration it is presenting its own plan for the first time and, therefore, we have not been provided with concrete data of reference useful for comparing the degree of achievement of objectives and the levels of efficiency of past years. But what doesn't satisfy us is the absolute lack of clear indications about times and deadlines for assigning the objectives to the peripheral offices, offices for which no efficient operational initiative is indicated".

“As far as customs are concerned, the administration has taken note of the observations of the trade union side, while as far as Monopolies are concerned, the profound diversity of opinion on the subject of SIAE controls has become evident which, in the opinion of the trade unions, do not the substantial strengthening of Monopoli personnel thanks to the mobilization from the Treasury has more reason to be expected. The management of the Monopolies has informed that the agreement with the SIAE has been tacitly renewed until 2016 but that the unification with the customs could, in any case, provide for a revision".
