The AGEM index fell 44,35 points to 1.011,35 in October 2023, a decline of 4,2% from the previous month. Compared to a year ago, the index rose by 164,71 points, or 19,5%. During the last month, eight of the 12 companies in the AGEM index experienced a decline in share price, resulting in eight negative contributions and four positive contributions to the AGEM index.

The largest negative contributor to the monthly index was made by Aristocrat Leisure Limited (ASX: ALL), whose 5,7% drop in share price resulted in a loss of 28,68 points for the index. Meanwhile, International Game Technology PLC (NYSE:IGT) saw its stock price drop by 16,2%, leading to a loss of 20,94 points for the index. The largest positive contribution to the index was made by Agilysys (Nasdaq: AGYS), whose 29,7% increase in share price led to a gain of 16,44 points for the AGEM index. Agilysys' stock price rise was fueled by fiscal 2024 second-quarter financial results that included a 22,8% year-over-year increase in net revenue.

All three major U.S. stock indexes fell in October 2023. The NASDAQ fell 2,8% for the month, while the S&P 500 fell 2,2%. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1,4% from the previous month.
