Carloforte (CI). Popular petition presented to ask for the removal of the slots

(Jamma) No slot machines in Carloforte, they create addiction, social alienation and ruin people. This is the objective of a new popular petition, carried forward by the merchant Romano Veronese, who registered the text for the collection of signatures in the town hall. “Even in Carloforte there are these problems – said Veronese. – But, as in cases of addiction to drugs and alcohol, there is a distorted way of interpreting the phenomenon, which becomes silence, fear of making the problem known to others and therefore refusing to seek help. This is why I ask the municipal administration – he underlined – to study and find the appropriate measures to decree the ban on slot machines in the city”. The petition, according to the merchant, serves to "make people and administrators aware of the desire to be a community that takes care of the problems of its fellow citizens".
