(Jamma) Gauselmann Group, the largest gaming operator on the German market located in Espelkamp, East Westphalia in Germany has applied, with its Spanish subsidiary Dosniha, for the issuance of a second casino license in Mallorca, currently tendered by the regional government. The new casino will be opened in the park of the Bendinat Castle which is located in the municipality of Calvia. The castle was built in a neo-Gothic and medieval style in the 19th century by the Marquis de la Romana and is a true architectural jewel of the popular tourist resort.
“In this large park with the castle in the centre, we are planning a first-class resort, with casino and luxury hotel, with a rich program of events. This will become an attraction center for the island,” said Rolf Falke, spokesman for Merkur International, a subsidiary of the Gauselmann group.
The application was submitted in good time. The planned investment for the project is around ten million euros. “We are confident that we will be able to convince the institutions of our plans for sophisticated and quality tourism. In addition, around 200 new jobs will be created if we get the licence,” concluded Rolf Falke.
