The Directorate General of Gambling Regulation (DGOJ) has released the final data of gaming revenue during the fourth quarter of 2023.

Il GGR for the quarter amounted to €315,29 million, up 3,63% quarter-on-quarter and 0,55% year-on-year.

As for the rest of the key figures, deposits and withdrawals of players, their change rates increase compared to the previous year, by 9,36% and 5,25% respectively. Compared to the previous quarter, deposits grew by 12,45% and withdrawals by 19,34%. Marketing expenses increase by 20,91% quarter on quarter ei new customers recorded growth compared to the previous quarter, equal to 20,11%.

In the analysis of the GGR by game segments, it is observed that:

  • The 315,29 million euros of GGR are distributed between 114,73 million euros in Betting (36,39%); 3,84 million euros in Bingo (1,22%); €171,27 million in Casino (54,32%); €0,05 million in Contests (0,02%) and €25,41 million in Poker (8,06%).
  • The segment of bets it has a positive change rate of 1,09% quarter-on-quarter and a decline of -18,83% year-on-year. There is a decrease compared to the previous quarter in pre-match, -75,98% and an increase in bets played, 58,13%. Other bets increased by 30,66% this quarter and horse bets by 6,05%.
  • Bingo recorded growth of 5,35% quarter-on-quarter and 5,96% year-on-year.
  • In the segment of casino, there was a 6,87% quarter-over-quarter increase and an annual rate of change of 20,23%. Slots increased by 25,86% and life roulette by 15,26% year-on-year. Quarter after quarter, BlackJack slots and life roulette recorded growth of 10,83%, 5,36% and 10,70% respectively. On the other hand, conventional roulette drops slightly by -0,80%.
  • The competitions recorded an increase of 5,11% on a quarterly basis and 61,48% on an annual basis. This segment continues erratic behavior with Q75,86 annual change rates of 2020% in 95,65; -2021% in 36,73; -2022% in XNUMX.
  • The poker presents a decline of -5,25% on a quarterly basis and -2,49% on an annual basis. The poker tournament had a negative rate of change of -8,69% quarter-over-quarter and -0,50% year-over-year. Poker cash increases by 4,26% compared to the previous quarter and decreases by -6,99% compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
  • Marketing expenses they amounted to €112,97 million in the last quarter. It can be broken down into 13,95 million euros in affiliate expenses; 0,75 million euros in sponsorship; promotions €53,01; and advertising 45,22 million euros. Compared to the previous quarter, marketing expenses increased by 20,91% and 5,25% in annual variation. Quarter on quarter, sponsorships decrease by -14,40%; Affiliates increase by 20,57%; Advertising 35,73% and Promotions, 11,28%. Year on year, sponsorships decrease by -57,59%; Affiliates -5,72%; Advertising increases by 16,25% and promotions by 2,27%. The promotions are divided into the cost of the bonus included in the prizes, 13,87 million euros and the cost of the bonus not included in the prizes, 39,19 million euros.

The monthly average of active game accounts is of 1.269.585; which implies a 17,26% increase on a quarterly basis and a 6,76% increase on a year-on-year basis. The monthly average of new game accounts is 129.207; with a growth of 20,11% quarter on quarter and a decline of -2,31% year on year.
