The checks carried out at a tobacconist's shop allowed the officials of the Customs and Monopolies Agency under the Control Office of Palermo and the operational headquarters in Catania to prevent the illegal sale of "scratch & win" tickets.

As part of the service activities, aimed at verifying the remote collection of public games and the sale of instant and deferred lottery tickets, the manager of the resale was charged with the abusive exercise of gaming activities since it was found in the absence of the prescribed authorization issued by ADM for the possession and sale of tickets found inside the tobacconist's.

In particular, the merchant collected the coupons in another betting shop based in Acireale (CT), paying any winnings and having them validated by the authorized betting shop. Having seized 135 intact "scratch & win" tickets and another 11 already used and with winning results, the manager was fined 3.433 euros, while the competent ADM office will subsequently proceed to contest the irregular activity.
