The policemen of the Prato Flying Squad, in collaboration with the Customs and Monopolies Agency, during a service aimed at combating gambling, identified and seized a betting center with a poker room and reported 17 people.

At the time of the intervention, inside the premises, the officers found several patrons intent on gambling; they exchanged their cash for chips issued by the croupier and at the end of the game the chips were returned in exchange for a printed receipt with the corresponding amount of money, coded in points. These points could then be redeemed for cash at the cashier.

The operation made it possible to identify 51 patrons inside the venue. Of these, 17 were reported in a state of freedom for participating in and engaging in gambling. Two of them were found to be illegal on the national territory and were made available to the Immigration Office for procedures relating to expulsion.

During the search, approximately 125 thousand euros in cash were seized and the premises were placed under criminal seizure.
