A mobile casino operator is currently airing a fake interview with Red Devil Kevin De Bruyne to promote its services, also on the Belgian market.
Thus celebrities find themselves at the mercy of unauthorized operators despite themselves.
These companies abuse their image to advertise their services.
In the video in question Kevin Debruyne explains that he recently won 100.000 euros playing on Strategic Focus.
In the video available on the app store and on some social networks, the brilliant Manchester City footballer is seen explaining in English, in front of the camera, how much he enjoys playing on the app of Strategic Focus, a mobile games operator based in the Philippines.
In the video the footballer underlines that you shouldn't be discouraged after losing your first bets, but that you need to be patient because your luck will change in the end. He adds that he recently won 100.000 euros in this way, inviting others to do the same…
The problem is that this interview is a fake, as confirmed by Olivier Vrins of the Atfield law firm, which represents the footballer's interests. It was created using artificial intelligence (AI) and pasting together pieces of real interviews.
This “campaign” is unfortunately visible on the Belgian market, in particular through the app store. A market in which, it must be said, the gaming site Strategic Focus has no authorization. This was recently confirmed by the Gaming Commission, the regulatory authority that issues and manages licensing. It remains to be seen whether, technically, it is a real site or a simple app: in the first case, the Commission will include it in its blacklist of illegal sites; in the second case, the procedure does not provide for this possibility.
