“The experience of the game called «GONG» ends at the end of February. After months of experimentation, the ADM has decided that this entertainment formula will not definitively become part of the 10e game modesLotto”. This is what he wrote in a note Italian Federation of Tobacconists.
“Introduced on an experimental basis on October 26, 2022, with the aim of completing the gaming experience and supporting the 10e collectionLotto, it would appear that the formula has not achieved sufficient results to convince the Financial Administration to guarantee its continuation. Moreover, after an encouraging start close to the launch, the following months of experimentation had highlighted a progressive decline and a modest contribution from the new game to the overall collection. Last October – continues the note – the Customs and Monopolies Agency had taken its time, arranging a extension of four months of the probationary period. A time frame deemed necessary to better evaluate the progress of the game and the consequent opportunity for a definitive introduction of «GONG». Apparently, however, even these further months of additional experimentation do not seem to have convinced to the point that the last competition of the "GONG" formula has been set for Tuesday 27 February 2024. The concessionaire company has recently issued a communication for the management of bets for multiple consecutive competitions. Subscriptions, in fact, will be allowed to scale as follows:
- 10eLotto in mode connected to the extractions of the Lotto: starting from the competition on 13 February the number of games allowed is 9 and will decrease by one game for each subsequent competition, until the one on 27 February 2024;
- 10eLotto in time interval extraction mode: on February 27th until 14 pm the number of subscription games will be equal to 00; from 50pm to 14pm it will be equal to 00; From 18pm to 10pm only single plays will be allowed.
Although we are disappointed that the new gaming formula has not found fertile ground in the players' appreciation - adds the FIT - at the same time we must rejoice at the overall trend of the collection of the Lotto and all other fixed-odds number games. According to rumors, in fact, in 2023 the collection of Lotto it would seem close to 8 billion euros. The data is obviously unofficial and awaiting confirmation. We will have to wait longer for the official status, considering that those recently issued by the Customs and Monopolies Agency with the Blue Book published in recent weeks are stuck in 2022 (the year in which the Lotto has reached the threshold of 7,5 billion euros in collections, Ed.). Beyond the official data, one thing is certain: the game of Lotto is in good health and confirms itself in the top positions among the forms of entertainment most loved by Italians", concludes the note.
