“It was held last November 8th in Rome, at the Sala da Feltre, theNational Assembly of the Sports Receivers Union. An Assembly with a very important weight, both for the participation of invited and invited guests and for the topics covered. After all, practically exactly one year after the inauguration of the National President, Emilio Zamparelli (in the photo) and its National Steering Committee, it was the first Assembly of the current work team. It was therefore mandatory that STS wanted to celebrate, in the best possible way, what has been done so far, with commitment and passion and at the same time outline the activities of the near future. On stage, together with the National President, Zamparelli, the entire Steering Committee: Giuseppe Bagnato, Bruno Brenta and Carlo Frumenti, but also the National President of the Italian Tobacconists Federation, Mario Antonelli, who opened the proceedings by highlighting the good work done by STS in the last year and above all the strong synergy that exists with FIT.
«STS is an important piece of FIT – said Antonelli – many of us were not there yet, but it has been working to protect the category since 1955. We started from Totocalcio and Enalotto; today we are in the era of online gaming, which allows you to play games in real time. Our world has changed and STS has adapted to the changes."
And on the first year of work of the current CDN, Antonelli reiterated: «I am proud of the work carried out by this team. Theirs is a difficult job: there has been talk of reorganization for years and the discussion has been in full swing for months. Maybe this is the right time that a result will be achieved. Being all united on the same path – concluded Antonelli – is fundamental for the entire category and for the entire gaming world."
Many topics were touched upon by Zamparelli in his final and programmatic report, starting from the relaunch of activities in the area, up to the renewal of communication, with the website and the Italian Receiver completely renewed. Last but not least, the commitment with dealers and institutions, for the correct recognition of the physical network, heavily penalized by the exploits of online gaming. In front of the stage, an exceptional audience: present were the delegations of the three main public gaming concessionaires interlocutors of STS, Lottomatica, Sisal and Snaitech. Their active participation: Alessandro Fiumara, Managing Director Digital and Betting Italy, took to the speakers' podium; CEO GBO Italy, Lottomatica, Massimo Passamonti; Director of Institutional Relations of Sisal and Pierpaolo Antonelli, Commercial Director of Snaitech. Everyone underlined the central role of the physical collection network and the need to work together with the Union to achieve the interests that dealers and receivers have in common.
Concluding the round of speakers, however, was Mario Lollobrigida, Games Director of the Customs and Monopolies Agency, who - again on the importance of the physical network and tobacconists - highlighted: «The physical network is very important for us: represents the garrison of the State on the territory. Tobacconists are even more so: they are direct concessionaires of the State. And as entities linked to the concessionaires, they are an emanation of the Public Administration itself which, as you know, has the state monopoly on gaming and exercises it through these networks".
Great participation of the STS Representatives also in the afternoon debate: many questions and above all many certificates of satisfaction with the assembly's work. After all, it was the first time that both the largest concessionaires and the ADM Games Director participated in the Assembly.
In short, we couldn't imagine a better way to celebrate the CDN's first year of work. And if, as has been noted on several occasions, the period we are experiencing is among the most delicate for the future of the game, one thing is certain: STS is on track and is doing its utmost to protect the entire category of tobacconist receivers . Go on like this!".
