"In the section Criteria and methods  Site of the Ministry of Tourism was published on Decree of the Minister of Tourism (protocol 19403/23) containing the application provisions concerning the criteria for determining, the methods of assignment and the procedures for disbursing the resources intended for companies carrying out tourism and hospitality activities, as well as catering, located in the territories affected by the flood events which occurred starting from 1 May 2023" . This is what he writes Confesercenti in a note.

“The provision defines the criteria for determining, the methods of assignment and the procedures for disbursing the resources of the Fund established in the estimate of the Ministry of Tourism, with an allocation of 10 million euros for the year 2023.

Purpose of the decree

The decree - continues the note - contains measures to support tourist and hospitality activities, including tourist ports, spas and bathing establishments, theme parks, amusement parks, agritourisms, the exhibition sector, catering, the transport of travellers, carried out through the rental of buses with drivers, in order to ensure the resumption of production activities and to guarantee compensation for the damage suffered following the flood events referred to in State of emergency declarations mentioned in the introduction.

The resources are intended for operators with operational headquarters:
  • in the territory of the Provinces of Reggio-Emilia, Modena, Bologna, Ferrara, Ravenna and Forlì-Cesena and Rimini;
  • in the territory of the Municipalities of Firenzuola, Marradi, Palazzuolo sul Senio and Londa of the Metropolitan City of Florence;
  •  in the territory of the municipalities of Fano, Gabicce Mare, Monte Grimano Terme, Montelabbate Pesaro, Sassocorvaro Auditore and Urbino.
In the decree all the ATECO codes of the recipient activities which must possess at least one of the following requirements:
  1.  having suffered material damage to purely tourist and hospitality activities as a direct consequence of the flood events that occurred, where not covered by an insurance policy or by a public contribution aimed at restoring the damage suffered;
  2. have suffered a reduction in earnings before interest, taxes and duties (EBIT), depreciation costs and labor costs solely related to the plant affected by the disaster
    natural in the period between 1 May 2023 and 31 July 2023 compared to the similar period 1 May 2022 and 31 July 2022.

The deadlines for submitting contribution requests will be communicated soon on the institutional website", concludes Confesercenti.
