Below is the letter signed by 10 equestrian associations – anact (Roberto Toniatti), ciga (Giovanni Sibilio), Federnat (Mauro Biasuzzi), Horse racing entrepreneurs (Enrico Tuci), New horse racing (Giorgio Sandi), Horse racing organization (Marco Folli), Ptl (Luca Rocca), Snapt (Antonio Somma), upt (Francesco Gragnaniello) e Urtuma (Massimo Pierini) – addressed to the Minister of Agriculture Francesco Lollobrigidato the Undersecretary Patrick Giacomo La Pietra, to the Head of Department DIQPAI Stephen Scalera and to the Director General for Horse Racing Remo Chiodi:

“The undersigned associations, in confirming what has already been reported with ours document 12.10.2023 with regard to the concrete and decisive interventions that Italian horse racing is in extreme need and urgency of today - to which we would also like to point out that relating to the already highlighted reduction in VAT - they jointly ask to postpone the establishment of the Consulta to the year 2024 National Horse Racing Championship". This is what we read in a signed note

Horse racing needs politicians in these last months of the year to commit themselves solely to achieving interventions aimed at guaranteeing the survival of the sector, postponing any other initiative, albeit laudable, to a later time.

The undersigned Associations believe that, in this particular historical moment, there are no conditions for the establishment of a consultative body, in the forms, methods and times indicated in the Decree, believing that the same is today a potentially distortive element with respect to the need to implement rapid actions on the points already identified, i.e.:

– increase in the prize money allocation by 20 million euros per year for the next 3 years;

– different and more effective distribution of the prize money;

– total revision of agreements with racing companies;

– preparation of a payment system that allows operators to receive accreditation in a maximum of 30 days;

– VAT reduction.

In light of the above considerations, the undersigned Associations renew their request to postpone the establishment of the National Horse Racing Council to the year 2024 and in any case to a time following the achievement of the aforementioned points".
