On February 5, the Gambling Regulators European Forum (GREF) and the International Association of Gaming Advisors (IAGA) organized a conference on the critical issues raised by the manipulation of sports competitions. As part of this workshop, the IOC's Competition Manipulation Prevention Unit first presented its work, before participating in a roundtable with UEFA, the Council of Europe, Interpol and the British Commission for gambling on the topic of collaboration to protect international sporting events and the integrity of sports betting.

For Isabelle Falque-Pierrotin, President of the ANJ and GREF: “Match fixing undermines the integrity of the game, tarnishes the reputations of athletes and erodes public trust in the authenticity of sporting events, thus damaging the credibility of the entire sports industry. All interested parties, both public and private, must therefore join forces to prevent the manipulation of sporting competitions, especially in view of next summer's Olympic Games."
