“The term ecosystem is exactly what we use when we want to describe what is meant by a bingo hall, a large games room”. Imma Romano, Director of Institutional Relations and Communication at Codere Italia Spa, spoke today about gaming halls at the conference entitled "Gaming Halls: entertainment, sociality and responsible consumption" organized by EGP Fipe and which was held during Host, the world fair dedicated to the catering and hospitality sector.

“This aspect is often overlooked because we don't know in detail how an arcade works. We are talking about theaters often managed by large multinationals, with experience at an international level, with a strong and important core business, knowledge that comes from very far away. What we have within them is a 360° entertainment offer, which therefore does not only include gaming and the gaming offer (and obviously we are talking about legal gaming). Because, it is worth specifying, this is the decisive element, because entering a dealership already means entering a clear and transparent world, where there is nothing to hide, where there is no dust to cover the carpet but where there are people who work on the basis of national employment contracts, recognized with all protections. There are people who are able, thanks to careful training, to be to some extent points of reference for customers. The offer goes beyond just gaming, as we said, but is open to an entertainment offer that includes music and events. We are in a context where we talk about gastronomy, perhaps not at the level of a starred restaurant, but in any case through a carefully curated offer that also involves the selection of suppliers. Being closer to the consumer means listening to him, there is not only the gaming operator, therefore, there is not only the guy who sells you the card or the person who takes care of the cash register, but there are specific professionalisms for everyone entertainment levels. The cook rather than the waiter must have specific professional skills and when we select the staff we must take into account a series of aspects that lead us to look for the right people to put in the right place. This is because the relationship with the customer is fundamental, as it is in a bar; what is defined as human value. That's the core value with respect to our gaming product, but I think with respect to any other type of product. No one would go to a place where they don't treat them with due attention. This means investing in training continuously to ensure we always meet customer expectations. All this requires commitment: there are entire departments, and therefore entire professions that deal exclusively with this. Environmental responsibility and attention to economic sustainability are important in our offer. Large rooms, obviously, have very high energy consumption precisely because the devices in the rooms themselves absorb energy. So we take into consideration everything that can be put in place to reduce the energy impact in our economy, but also to reduce the environmental impact. Let's think about separate waste collection, glass collection, and the use of reusable service materials.

Dr. Romano also spoke about digital technologies: “I believe that there must be a fair compromise between tradition and new technologies, after all the rooms are often frequented by people who are not very young. Therefore it is necessary to maintain a minimum of tradition, as it does throughout the offer, with an eye towards the future".
