“In the world and in all the main countries where the gaming sector is developed, there are bodies like the one we are organizing and which play a significant role in studying and connecting the actors involved in this sector”, explained the professor Matteo Caroli president of the FAIR foundation.

“Organisms – continued Caroli – which have a series of activities that produce results, which we have studied and among other things the results of this study will be presented shortly with the next initiatives that the Foundation will implement.

We have decided to be very ambitious because in reality the foundation aims to become the point of reference in Italy for study, debate and comparison aimed at promoting and developing responsible gaming.

The challenge we want to face is to translate a concept of responsible gaming that we can all more or less agree on in order to move from a nice concept to something very concrete. Very concrete because, just as Dr. Maggi said before, the fundamental element is that only if there is a responsible gaming offer can negative effects be prevented as much as possible. It is a topic that today fundamentally concerns the majority of products offered in our markets because practically almost every product or service has possible negative environmental or social impacts.

Today we know that the business system is committed through sustainability policies precisely to minimize the possible negative environmental and social impact of their activities therefore the contribution that the foundation wants to make is precisely to support the actors so that this product which affects millions of people is sustainable .

This sector in our country is very fragmented, there are some large players, many of which, among other things, are part of large international groups, but there is also a part of small players (some of which are also illegal) who deal with offer play, then the Foundation wants to represent the point of reference for meeting, dialogue and comparison, precisely between many actors who deal with these issues and who can find a place of synthesis through the foundation's activity.
Since all these different actors converge on a common interest which is to ensure that gaming activities are games in the logical sense of the term, therefore fun and do not have pathological effects, we want to represent this meeting place for discussion by making available to actors data and consistent information.

In our country, in the end we talk and discuss anecdotes, at best, personal opinions, hearsay and perhaps important decisions are made on this basis; here we believe that it is fundamental, precisely because of the delicacy of some phenomena in this sector, to have concrete empirical data and evidence.

For this reason, from the beginning, the foundation has equipped itself with a steering committee but also a scientific committee and on this scientific board sit independent people not linked in any way to the sector but bearers of different and scientific skills.

Most of the colleagues are, like me, university students in different fields precisely to guarantee the foundation a sensitivity and ability to develop methodologically robust research and studies; this very important element will characterize the objectives.
We wanted to design a manifesto with the idea of bringing together within the Foundation all the stakeholders who want to converge and want to work together".
