DP extension. ANCI initiatives that can be shared for the protection of the health of citizens and families

(Jamma) “We express our appreciation for the activities promoted by the Anci – reads a note released by the Department for Anti-Drug Policies – to create conditions for better control and prevention of pathological gambling. The principles and guidelines carried forward by ANCI and the Associations, to protect the health of citizens and their families are absolutely shared and this Department, also within the Collaboration Agreement signed with this Association in December 2012, intends to enhance these initiatives.

We are convinced that, in order to be able to solve this problem, which has by now assumed a national importance, a coordinated and common effort is needed by both all public administrations and those parts of civil and productive society which are responsibly called to keep in consideration that the priority for a civil state is certainly the health of its citizens and their families.

We therefore also want to express our closeness to those associations that are proposing principles and guidelines for the protection of the population and for the adoption of rules and regulations that can make it possible to reduce the advertising impact and to make such advertisements truthful, to limit the dissemination of points of gaming on the territory and to establish better conditions of territorial control, as well as to supervise the feared criminal infiltrations in the legal game.

Finally, we also deem the initiative worthy of supporting the development and adoption of adequate levels of assistance and treatment and rehabilitation structures which could be absorbed, as already proposed by the DPA at the State-Regions Conference, obtaining a percentage adequate (proportional to the existing problem and the costs to deal with it) from the quotas intended for the pay-out, i.e. the winnings.
