Bplus: direct negotiation with ADM top management, concession expected for early September

BPlus: Judge Rossi Brigante is a candidate for trust controller

(Jamma) The top leaders of the Monopolies have decided to deal with the Bplus issue in person. Yesterday's meeting, according to what Agimeg learns from institutional sources, was in fact attended by the deputy director of the Agency Luigi Magistro, the director of the Games Area Roberto Fanelli, and the head of the Central Regulatory and Legal Affairs Directorate Italo Volpe. The three highest offices in the structure have decided to follow the case directly given the delicacy of the story and the multiplicity of interests involved.

In fact, the decision of the State Monopolies on the affair of Bplus is expected for early September, the company active in the slot sector excluded from the tender for the concessions concluded in recent months, after the Prefecture of Rome issued an anti-mafia information against the major shareholder, Francesco Corallo. According to what has been learned, yesterday's meeting was not decisive, but the WMD has given signs of openness, and the company and administration have started what is defined as a "common path that should lead to the award of the concession". The decision in fact falls to Piazza Mastai, after the prefecture suspended – until May 2014 – the disqualification against Corallo. In yesterday's meeting, the company accepted the conditions set by the Administration, in particular the appointment of a public controller who oversees management, and the ban on distributing profits. The go-ahead from the Monopolies would concern the assignment of the management of the company to a blind trust - which would guarantee the separation of management from ownership - which has already been set up in recent months. However, the trust could eventually lead to the sale of the company at a later time. At the moment no new meetings have been scheduled – although it cannot be excluded that others may be called urgently in the next few days – the company is in fact committed to producing the documentation requested by the Administration. The decision of the Monopolies is therefore expected in the first part of September, before the hearing of the appeal to the TAR - postponed yesterday to 18 September, precisely in view of the meeting - which the company has initiated precisely to request the concession.
