Astro: The autumn that awaits us

(Jamma) The hot season has left us with a truly impressive amount of issues and problems, and the latest news that we are receiving from the Government certainly adds a "quid pluris" of difficulties to which it would in any case be wrong to attribute that "deflagratory" role that some contexts would like to attribute to him too hastily.

As can be read in the note from the As.tro Association, it goes without saying that

  • if the "slot" could be installed safely in all the places permitted by state law,
  • if the banks treated legitimate gambling operators as entrepreneurs with the function of public collectors of tax resources (and not as licensed criminals),
  • if the situation of internal public order allowed an exemplary prevention and repression of attacks on slots, and on management companies,
  • if the reform of the construction rules for new equipment embraced the "safety that can be pursued in practice" and not only in the abstract,
  • if the market were "stabilized" on levels of competitiveness that did not also include the management of slots entirely devolved to the convenience of the point of sale,
  • if the sector accounting practice had been subject to institutional standardization since the first start-up,
  • if the tax enabling law already envisaged a reorganization of the sector legislation, a harbinger of system efficiency and longevity of rules,

even the apprehensions generated by the latest news would occupy a limited "emotional" space.

Unfortunately, all the issues mentioned above constitute open fronts and the summer break has not mitigated their complexity, at least for an entity like AS.TRO which, while not proposing itself as a "magic solver" of problems, nonetheless has the burden of tackling them to represent on a daily basis, and in all forums, the requests of virtuous companies, of which the legitimate gaming industry can be proud.

In fact, the greatest resource available to the Association, in addition to its base, is the group of activists from the Board, the Commissions, the Builders Section, who for years now have been bringing ideas and innovations, renewing the associative action with the same timing as the evolution of the system, often anticipating fundamental elements of its course.

It is difficult to think of "solving everything", but we are certain that – unlike those (and there are many) who think they have to capitulate – in AS.TRO the dominant idea is still that of "tackling" the challenges.

Maybe one or more battles won't be won, but when you work with the certainty of being able to count on the contribution of many entrepreneurs, ready to lend a hand even after so many hours of work spent in the company and just as many to go, the desire not to giving in becomes a normal daily feeling.
