Il Gambling Regulators European Forum (GREF) , North American Gaming Regulators Association (NAGRA) have today announced a partnership aimed at strengthening ties between gambling regulators on both sides of the Atlantic.

The two organisations, which bring together around 100 regulators in Europe and North America, have committed to enhancing their collaboration with the aim of building greater knowledge exchange with all their member organisations.

This will include:

  • Hold joint meetings of the respective interest groups;
  • Extend invitations to attend and speak at respective annual conferences; And
  • Jointly host seminars for regulators across North America and Europe on issues related to emerging regulatory risks.

Isabelle Falque-Pierrotin, president of the Autorite Nationale Des Jeux and of the GREF, said:

“With public opinion around the world increasingly concerned about the risks related to the oversupply of gambling and the rise of gambling markets and innovations, the exchange between regulators around the world is fundamental. Regulators at GREF and NAGRA face the same issues and I believe this collaboration will improve the protection of our consumers."

Ryan Winfield, of the Arizona Department of Gaming and president of NAGRA, said:

“The power of partnership and collaboration between GREF and NAGRA is important in this ever-evolving industry. The changing landscape and future of gaming makes it imperative to reach out to other industry organizations in order to stay informed as we tirelessly serve our communities. This commitment to collaboration and communication will serve people around the world.”

The North American Gaming Regulators Association (NAGRA) is made up of federal, state, local, tribal, and provincial government agencies that are primarily responsible for regulating legalized gaming activities.

The European Gambling Regulators Forum (GREF) brings together gambling regulators across Europe to exchange views on gambling-related issues, in particular on regulation, supervision, control of operators or the gambling industry.
