The CIGO Association (ITALIAN online gaming concessionaires), following the entry into force of Legislative Decree 41/2024 on the reorganization of public (online) games, intends to reiterate "its firm and motivated dissent with respect to a disappointing regulation of reorganization which presents numerous flaws and obvious and serious critical issues, starting with the significant weakening of the real protection of the player (final consumer)".

“This is a "tailor-made" regulation for large multinationals - through a distorted and anti-competitive use of the legislative function - to the total detriment of all Italian small and medium-sized enterprises, which are responsible not only for the growth of the market but, for today, the role of effective containment of the proliferation of illicit gaming networks. A regulation - they say from CIGO in a note that comments on the provision approved by the Government on the reorganization of online gaming - which in order to build an oligopoly even compromises the legitimate expectations of tax revenue which could also have been preserved by implementing the modification proposals put forward by the Association, remained totally unheard (like the parliamentary observations).

For these reasons CIGO will continue, in every useful forum, in its action to protect its Members, the free market, all the operators in the supply chain, no less than the players (final consumers).

Moreover, the Italian Government has already thought about large foreign operators (only them).

The Government approves legislation against Italian companies, against gambling addiction and against tax revenue".
