Il no slot call from the Municipality of Rimini, which from 2024 will attribute contributions to activities that will dispose of slot machines, was born from an intuition of Borg's Zeinta association.

This was reported by the president of Zeinta, Daniele Fagnani, that explains: “To recognize virtuous companies, since 2016 we have organized the cultural event A book for tea every year, in no-slot venues, to raise awareness among citizens of this issue”.

So in recent months, councilor Magrini was contacted proposing reimbursement of the Tari to companies that would have disposed of the slot machines. “The economic commitment for the reimbursement of the Tari was considered by the Council to be too onerous and it was opted for economic support for virtuous companies”, adds Fagnani.

“In collaboration with councilor Gianfreda, who proved to be sensitive and attentive to the issue, the topic was explored in depth by agreeing to favor the disposal of gambling machines and slot machines rather than other forms of gaming. We also discussed this topic with Dr. Vignoli, director of the Pathological Addictions Operational Unit in Rimini. We believe that this result could be the subject of attention and also adopted in other municipalities, particularly in our province", continues Fagnani.

“I consider this initiative an important step in a journey that is only at the beginning. We thank Zeinta di Borg for the strong stimulus to an intervention by the Administration, in close synergy with ASL Romagna, on such an important and delicate topic", commented the councilor Gianfreda.

“By giving up slot machines, companies give up a significant income, which this announcement partially reimburses, but the resulting message is also very important in terms of preventing gambling risks. Now all we have to do is wait for how many companies will apply and we hope there will be many", comments Fagnani.
