#astro4her turns two: between enthusiasm, desire to do and future prospects

Over 50 members, more than 400 followers on social media, 2 events which saw the participation of institutions, politics, companies, training bodies. The working table for #genderequity meets at Enada Primavera and outlines the new guidelines for the next challenges, with the aim of promoting gender equality inside and outside the public gaming sector, combating inequalities and enhancing diversity, accelerating cultural change under the banner of “Invest in Women, Accelerate Progress” the United Nations call to action for International Women's Day 2024

Two years after its creation #astro4her takes stock and launches its new challenges. He does it at Enada, an important showcase for public gaming, thanks to a moment of internal discussion organized at the fair on 13 April.

Two years of intense work, accompanied by a lot of enthusiasm, which made it possible to implement important actions and create high-level events, always with a precise objective: to enhance the role of women, their professionalism and their abilities within the sector of legal gaming, but also to borrow, with a careful look outside the sector, inputs, good practices and concrete actions implemented in other product contexts.

Designed by a small group of women, #astro4her today it has more than 50 members, coming from both large groups and family-run companies, both within the sector and from other professional entities.

This is precisely the great challenge: to leave the limited perimeter of public gaming and open a constant and productive debate with institutions and stakeholders, to raise awareness of the intrinsic value of public gaming through the testimonies of the women who are part of it, promoting their professionalism and recognizing the their value in terms of improving society's perception.

Il 2022 it was the year of departure, of planning, of the first phase of communication.

Il 2023 made it possible, thanks to the extensive work of building relationships, to hold a first event on 18 April at the Chapter House of the Senate, "Women and the Future: Gender equality for fair and sustainable companies” and to close the year with a second event at Unisannio on 11 December “Women&STEM: IT and new technologies at the service of a world without gender limits".

Il 2024 it will want to be the year of consolidation and engagement of the greatest possible number of women, but also of men, willing to commit so that we can all work together to reduce inequalities, increase the presence of women in top roles, recognize the value of diversity and eliminate, as quickly as possible, those stereotypes that have caused so much damage at a relational, working and, above all, cultural level. The challenges are concrete and urgent: Italy is 13th in the ranking of EU countries for gender equality. With a score of 68,2, we are 2 points below the average (source: Eige, European Institute for Gender Equality). Our country has made progress, but it is not enough. The latest Eurostat surveys show Italy as the European state with the lowest female participation in the world of work: just 55% of women in 2022 are employed compared to 75% of men. The acceleration towards a cultural change is an essential condition for a change of pace in the working world.

"We are certain that only through concrete actions and personal and collective commitments can we overcome the barriers that still make it difficult to achieve equal work and pay for women – they declare from #astro4her –. We will continue to do our part also through a new course of the Table which will see an even more direct involvement of all the members and an increasingly challenging program of activities".
