The single tax levy evaded by a cultural association in Taranto in relation to the illicit use of "slot machines" capable of paying players cash winnings amounts to over 700 thousand euros. This is the outcome of a control plan established by the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Taranto and aimed at combating illegal and irregular gaming.

The controls in question represent the development, on a fiscal level, of some service operations conducted by the operational departments which led to the identification and seizure of 3 slot machines not connected to the IT network of the Customs and Monopolies Agency. 3 managers, including the legal representative of the inspected association, were reported to the competent authority. The Ionian financiers selected the subjects involved in the investigations, owners of private clubs, betting shops and cultural associations in the capital, cross-referencing the information present in the various available databases with that acquired during economic control services of the territory or through specific analysis of risk in the sector. Having reconstructed the overall volume of gambling and quantified the tax base subtracted from taxation at over 3,2 million euros, the Fiamme Gialle of the Economic and Financial Police Unit of Taranto found the evasion of the single tax levy for an amount of over 700 thousand euros .

The single tax levy, established in our legislation in 2003, is a tax that weighs on the "owners" of amusement machines and devices and is commensurate with the sums "played" and recorded on the relevant meters. The controls of the financiers continue unabated in order to prevent and repress all forms of illegality and abusive practices in the gaming sector, including "online" ones. The Financial Police carries out inspection activities to protect legal gaming in full and complete autonomy and also holds, exclusively, the task of supervising distributors and gaming operators for anti-money laundering purposes. In the public gaming sector, the Corps protects players from illegal, unsafe and unsecured gaming proposals, safeguarding the weakest groups, first and foremost minors.
