A total of 13 slot machines and personal computers were seized by the Ionian financiers, with 3 of those responsible having been reported to the competent authorities.

This is the outcome of a series of checks conducted in recent days by the Fiamme Gialle of the Economic-Financial Police Unit of Taranto, of the Group at the headquarters and of the Manduria Company to combat illegal and irregular gaming.

In detail, during the economic control activity of the territory which involved bars, games rooms and recreational clubs, located in the provincial capital and in the Municipalities of Statte, Sava and Maruggio, the Ionian Financiers identified and subjected to seizure 5 " slot machines” not connected to the IT network of the Customs and Monopolies Agency and 8 gaming machines, the so-called “totems”, which allowed players to connect to the internet and bet on illegal gaming platforms.

For these offenses the Fiamme Gialle reported 3 perpetrators to the competent authorities and contested administrative sanctions for an amount of 27.000 euros.

Further investigations of a fiscal nature are being carried out aimed at ascertaining - by the inspected businesses - the regular payment to the Financial Administration of the so-called "Single Tax Levy", a tax commensurate with the sums "played" and recorded on the machines' meters.

In the public gaming sector, the Guardia di Finanza protects players from illegal, unsafe and without any guarantees, safeguarding the weakest groups, first of all minors.
