A total of 20 personal computers and "totems" were seized from bars and clubs located between the municipalities of Oppido Mamertina and Sant'Eufemia d'Aspromonte, in the province of Reggio Calabria. Over 260 thousand euros in administrative fines imposed and closure proposals for 3 public places. This is the impressive result of a series of checks conducted in recent weeks by the Carabinieri of the Compagnia di Palmi, aimed at combating illegal gambling.

The checks by the soldiers of the Carabinieri and the operators of the Customs and Monopolies Agency found that the seized devices allowed players, often minors, to connect to the internet and undertake risky bets on specific online gaming platforms, bypassing the channels of the Customs and Monopolies Agency. In Oppido Mamertina in particular, during a single check at a bar, 6 "totem" devices, so called due to their slender shape, were found hidden in a room covered by curtains, which allow you to play by evading the concessions of the Italian State.

With these checks the Carabinieri confirms, once again, its incessant presence in the territory, acting to protect the property interests of the State and citizens.
