In recent days, the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Vicenza has ordered, throughout the province, a strengthening of the device to combat the phenomena of economic-financial illegality: in particular, in addition to the Berici capital, the interventions concerned the main connecting arteries of the whole province and the main city centres, to protect businesses, traders, artisans and, more generally, economic operators who respect the rules.

Numerous operational crews deployed in a single day (both in uniform and in plain clothes), which subjected approximately 80 vehicles to checks and identified over 150 people, with particular attention to possible illicit trafficking and, with the support of the anti-drug dog unit, to combat drug dealing.

In this last sector, various checks were carried out, both in the capital - also with the support of Local Police personnel - and in Montecchio Maggiore, which led to the seizure of several dozen doses of the narcotic substance of hashish and marijuana, with consequent reporting to the local Prefecture of n. 3 subjects, one of which is a minor, for the violation of the art. 75 of Presidential Decree 309/90.

Numerous checks were carried out at various commercial establishments regarding product safety and combating counterfeiting which led to the administrative seizure, in various commercial establishments, of approximately 3.000 items without the indication of the minimum information on the relevant labels required by current legislation, including household goods , costume jewelery and toys (85), with the imposition of fines of around 5.000 euros against the owners of the shops concerned both in the capital and in the province.

Furthermore, checks continued on the correct implementation of regional and municipal regulations regarding the switching off of entertainment machines (so-called slot machines) during "protected" time slots, as well as on the issuing of receipts and tax receipts. in public establishments and local markets.

In particular, the interventions led to the imposition, against the owners of commercial businesses located in the municipalities of Bassano del Grappa, Schio, Montecchio Maggiore, Arzignano, Valdagno and Thiene, of administrative fines amounting to 15.000 euros, for having kept in a total of 30 entertainment machines (slot machines) function outside the hours permitted by current sector regulations.

Furthermore, 10 "illegal/irregular" workers have been identified both in the capital and in the province, employed respectively at a construction site operating in the city and at a restaurant in Montecchio Maggiore.

The checks were also conducted regarding the correct storage of electronic receipts, where, in addition to having found several violations due to failure to memorize the receipts, in one case the failure to install the cash register was contested.

Furthermore, during the checks carried out, the Fiamme Gialle reported to the AG no. 2 subjects for illegal stay in the State Territory, one identified inside the Bassano del Grappa railway station, the other at the weekly market in Arzignano. In this last case, the owner of the company that had illegally employed him was also referred to the AG.

Lastly, the soldiers of the Schio Company, making use of the support of personnel from the Regional Agency for Environmental Prevention and Protection of the Veneto, carried out an inspection at a company area owned by a construction company in the Berica province.

At the end of the inspection, the presence of large bags containing waste material (nylon, exhausted spray cans, paper, plastic) was found, deposited in bulk, not protected from the action of atmospheric agents and deposited on vegetal soil, among which the presence of large amounts of potentially dangerous material (waste of rock wool/insulating glass) was ascertained.

Therefore, since the crime hypothesis referred to in art. 256, paragraphs 1 and 2 of Legislative Decree 152/2006 and subsequent amendments and additions, was subjected to preventive seizure on initiative no. 16 bags containing waste material, the area where they were illicitly stored as well as reporting the two responsible parties to the Judicial Authority of Vicenza.

Overall, these are interventions that aim to ensure that the community as a whole, as well as honest entrepreneurs, economic operators and workers, a period of tranquility in full economic-financial legality, including those linked to the violation of environmental legislation, likely to compromise the natural habitat and the scenic beauties of Vicenza and which will continue further in the coming weeks.

It is represented that, with reference to criminally relevant hypotheses, in compliance with the principle of the presumption of innocence, the guilt of the persons subjected to investigation in relation to the matter will be definitively ascertained only if an irrevocable sentence of conviction occurs.
