Formia: the municipality displays the logo against gambling

Following adherence to the "Manifesto against gambling", promoted by the School of Good Practices, the Municipality of Formia, in the province of Latina, is now authorized to display the logo specifically designed for the adhering Municipalities.
To date, 272 Mayors have signed the document and in Lazio, in addition to Formia, there are only two Municipalities.
Meanwhile, on 9 October at 16 pm in the Municipality of Milan, an event will be held for the launch and signing of the "popular initiative bill" which aims to protect the health of individuals "given the certain correlation and increasingly worrying between the diffusion of gambling and related pathologies, such as the syndrome of gambling with cash winnings, or GAP (Pathological Gambling)”. The aims include “the prevention of the harmful consequences of gambling; the promotion of measured, responsible and informed gambling; the guarantee of safe and transparent management of gambling; the fight against unauthorized and clandestine gambling; inhibiting access to crime and money laundering in gambling.”

"Fundamental - explains the delegate for Legality Patrizia Menanno - the initiative of the School of Good Practices which aims to organize the Municipalities into a network, because also in collaboration with ASL, Prefectures, law enforcement agencies, social services, merchants and citizens, there are rules for the management of game rooms; their compatibility with the environment and the urban context is guaranteed; the minimum distances from sensitive settlements are regulated in detail; opening and closing times are defined; specify the location and characteristics of the advertisement and define the tasks of the Local Police in order to enforce all the rules adopted by the Municipality on the matter".
