“The Year Starts Here” is the appeal in support of EAG Expo 2024 which will take place from 16 to 18 January at ExCeL London

The world's only business-to-business trade show bringing together low-stakes land-based gaming and outdoor pay-to-play entertainment, EAG sets the tone for the year ahead by attracting thousands of buyers from all sectors , including family entertainment centres, adult gaming centres, tourist attractions, bars, clubs, bingo halls and bowling centres.

Nicholas Lazenby, who is celebrating 12 months as EAG entertainment director following his appointment in September 2022, explained The Year Starts Here!, inspiration and authenticity of the message. “In speaking to both EAG exhibitors and EAG visitors ahead of, during and after the 2023 show, it became clear that both groups see EAG as pivotal for the year ahead", has explained. “The conversations taking place in January at ExCeL London largely indicate the direction of travel for the industry for the rest of 2024. There are more than 100 brands and companies represented on EAG stands and all have research and development programs so that products can be revealed at the show – which explains why EAG represents such a reliable opportunity for buyers who want to keep their venues up-to-date and competitive".

John White, CEO of bacta, believes that ownership of the show is significant. He explained: “The fact that EAG is owned by bacta, the trade association representing the UK's entertainment and low stakes gaming sectors, means we can tailor the show to meet the specific needs of the sector and be cutting edge in terms of technology, legislation and learning. The 2024 edition is perfectly timed for exhibitors to showcase their latest portfolio of gaming machines which incorporate some of the proposals outlined in the UK Government's White Paper on Gambling Reform. With proposals such as the opportunity to have 50% of an adult gaming center or bingo hall made up of higher jackpot B3 games and the potential for cashless gaming scheduled to go live in summer 2024, EAG it's a perfect platform for game creators to showcase prototypes that will allow operators to see what's on offer before new proposals become law. Additionally, we may have some indication from the UK Government as to whether or not they will support changes to the maximum stakes and prizes allowed on gaming machines which will clearly impact the EAG experience".

Officially launching the campaign, the president of EAG, Martin Burlin, he added: "After navigating the pandemic that effectively shut down the terrestrial sector, EAG 2023 has successfully bounced back with a new show director and attendance that increased by 36% compared to 2022's figure. Offering the perfect offering that includes the latest gaming and entertainment products and a free seminar program packed with business-relevant content, EAG is the ideal event to start the year for operators across Europe and beyond".

The campaign in support of EAG 2024 will seek to build on the strong foundation established at the January edition which saw a total of 72 exhibitors, showcasing the latest innovative products from over 100 brands and occupying 80 stands.
