The Danish Gambling Authority is now ready with December statistics for the gambling market in the areas of betting, online casinos, slot machines and land-based casinos.

The data shows an increase in the four areas of 22,6% compared to December 2022. As of December 2023, the total BSI (Gross gaming revenue or gaming consumption) for betting, online casinos, slot machines and land-based casinos amounted to DKK 665 million. This is an increase of 22,6% compared to December 2022.

The overall increase for the four areas is driven by the increase in BSI for both betting, online casinos and land-based casinos, while there was a slight decrease for slot machines.

The high increase for bets of 67% should be seen in light of the fact that the payback ratio was slightly lower in December 2023 compared to December 2022.

With the latest data, the BSI for the whole of 2023 is now ready for both betting, online casino, slot machines and land-based casinos.
In 2023, the total BSI for the four areas amounted to DKK 6.795 million. This is an increase of 1,0% compared to 2022 (at current prices).
