As part of the evening checks relating to the prevention and combating of violations of an administrative nature concerning commercial activities, the agents of the Administrative Team of the Catania Police Headquarters carried out targeted inspections in the central San Cristoforo district. These checks have the aim of verifying any failure by operators to comply with current sector regulations and those responsible for protecting the safety of public places, the workers employed there and the health of consumers.

In particular, during the inspections, a public gaming hall was identified and checked. During the checks, carried out with the help of the police squad of the "San Cristoforo" police station, 16 people present inside the premises were identified and checked. It subsequently emerged that the arcade was operating without any authorization or regular licence. Therefore, 6 electronic gaming machines of the slot machine type, without authorization, were administratively seized and fines were imposed for a total amount of 67 thousand euros for the machines not connected to the State thematic network, for not having the regular nothing refusal issued by the Customs and Monopolies Agency (ADM) and for the lack of a public gaming hall licence.
