As part of the usual territorial control activities carried out by the State Police, in recent days the agents of the Taranto Administrative Team have notified the pro tempore manager of a recreational club of the decree of cessation of the activity of the aforementioned club, issued by the Police Commissioner Massimo Gambino. The measure became necessary following previous checks, including that carried out by the Flying Squad policemen, which ended with the subjection to the precautionary measure of house arrest of a subject who, upon entering the aforementioned club, had started an alleged activity of dealing of narcotic substances. At the time of the check, the man had attempted to get rid of a ball of paper, which later turned out to contain around 4 grams of hashish, which was immediately recovered by the investigators who also extended the checks inside the room where, in a bathroom cabinet, they had found an envelope containing 50 cartons of narcotic substance, presumably hashish, weighing approximately 56 grams in total.
Add to this that a few days earlier the agents of the Administrative Team had notified the president pro tempore of several reports for violation of various provisions of the TULPS, including having found within the club six entertainment machines not connected to the network with the State Customs and Monopolies Agency, the installation of video game machines without the required authorization from the Mayor and having administered food and drinks in a club with welfare purposes not recognized by the Ministry of the Interior, without having presented the prior SCIA (certified notification of start of activity) to the Single Desk for Productive Activities of the Municipality of Taranto. The Taranto Police Commissioner deemed it necessary to issue a cease-and-desist order.
The checks will continue in the next few days.
