In December 2023, the Gaming Authority of the Netherlands (Ksa) asked stakeholders from the gaming industry (providers, addiction support, experts by experience) to respond to the proposed changes to the responsible gaming policy rules. These regulations concern, among other things, the tightening of online providers' duty of care towards their players. The aim was to publish the amended policy rules in the Official Journal at the beginning of May 2024. Due to the extended response period for all those who wanted to provide input and the high number of responses, Ksa decided to postpone the publication date to Monday 3 June 2024.

Most of the amended Policy Rules will become effective on Monday, June 3, 2024. Exceptions will be made for new provisions that require major IT adjustments at online suppliers. Ksa is aware that these provisions require more preparation time for suppliers. The date of entry into force of these provisions will be communicated shortly by the Ksa.
