As part of a coordinated plan of interventions to combat illegal gaming, ADM officials of the Monopolies Office of Bari and of the Territorial Operational Section of Potenza - Matera branch office, and soldiers of the Guardia di Finanza of the Provincial Command of Matera in force to the Tenenza of Metaponto and the Matera Group - Operational Unit, carried out a control activity aimed at preventing and repressing illegal gaming, with particular attention to the protection of minors, contesting administrative sanctions for a total of 150.000,00 euros.

Specifically, on the basis of the memorandum of understanding signed in April 2023 between the Customs and Monopolies Agency and the Guardia di Finanza, the checks were carried out throughout the entire territory of the province of Matera, inside betting centers and game rooms.

In two private clubs, in Pomarico (MT), the presence of 15 personal computers was found, made freely available to all patrons of the club and intended for any form of gaming. The 15 pieces of equipment were seized.

The interventions of this kind demonstrate the constant commitment of the Customs and Monopolies Agency and the Fiamme Gialle, whose cooperation has been further increased thanks to the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Institutions, to protect players from illegal, unsafe gaming proposals and without any guarantee, safeguarding the weakest groups, first of all the minors.
