During the services provided by Police Commissioner of Catania, aimed at preventing and combating the phenomenon of gambling and clandestine betting, the policemen of the Administrative Squad, of the Administrative Police Division of the Police Headquarters, together with the agents of the Adrano Public Security Police Station, carried out targeted checks relating to activities commercial in the Adrano area.
Following the check in a pastry bar in the city centre, the owner was invited to the offices of the Adrano Public Safety Commissioner to show the Scia for administration. Subsequently, the lack of it was ascertained and therefore the administrative fine for an amount of 5 thousand euros was contested.
The investigation activities then involved a private club. The operators found, installed and functioning, a complete telematic station that allowed slot machine gaming, without authorization and not compliant with current legislation.
In particular, the installation of electronic gaming machines of the prohibited type was contested, with the seizure of the electronic workstation; the transformation of the private club into a public gaming hall; the activation of a food and drink service establishment in the absence of the required Scia.
The president of the club was accused of several administrative violations and was fined approximately 16 thousand euros.
