THEInternational Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) lets it be known that the Italian tennis player Andrea Rita was suspended for a period 15 months after admitting breaches of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program (TACP).

Rita, who achieved a career-high ITF singles ranking of 1712 in June 2023, admitted four TACP breaches between 2018 and 2020, including betting on tennis matches and failing to report a corrupt approach. The player was fined $5.000, including $4.000 in suspension.

Rita, 23, cooperated fully with the ITIA investigation and accepted an agreed sanction, waiving her right to be heard before an independent anti-corruption officer. The player's suspension period began on January 26, 2024 and ends on April 25, 2025.

During the period of disqualification, Rita is prohibited from playing, coaching or participating in any tennis event sanctioned or sanctioned by members of the ITIA (ATP, ITF, WTA, Tennis Australia, Fédération Française de Tennis, Wimbledon and USTA) or any association national.

The ITIA is an independent body established by its tennis members to promote, encourage, improve and safeguard the integrity of professional tennis throughout the world
